Daniel leads the finance practice at CMS Holborn Asia.  He has close to 20 years' experience advising international and domestic lenders and borrowers on a wide range of lending transactions in Singapore and internationally.

He specialises in complex cross-border financing transactions including acquisition finance, structured lending, project finance, fund financing, reserve-based lending and trade finance.

Daniel had primary responsibility for drafting the Asia-Pacific Loan Market Association's (APLMA) Singapore law recommended forms of Facility Agreement until January 2021, and was also the course co-ordinator of the Cross Border Transactions module on the Singapore Institute of Legal Education's (SILE) Part B Bar Course, from 2013 to 2020.

Daniel is qualified in Singapore and in England & Wales.  He was appointed a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths on 1 October 2018.

  • A syndicate led by DBS Bank on a US$150m facility for a Singapore-headquartered flour milling group, which has operations in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • United Overseas Bank on various Promissory Note Purchase facilities for a Thai group of companies.
  • PT Bank Negara Indonesia as to matters of Singapore law in connection with a loan facility to a SPV of a major Indonesian conglomerate.
  • DBS Bank, The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Standard Chartered Bank, on a S$150 million facility for a major sporting goods retailer in Singapore.
  • Standard Chartered Bank in connection with an acquisition facility for the Al Futtaim Group.
  • The Indonesian PT Triputra Agro Persada in connection with a US$470 million syndicated facility.
  • VietinBank on a dual currency USD/VND facility for the No Va Land group.
  • Standard Chartered Bank in connection with a financing to an SPV owned by a Singapore listed company in connection with a proposed acquisition.

  • Standard Chartered Bank in connection with a US$1 billion facility for PT Borneo Lumbung Energi & Mining Tbk to fund its acquisition of an interest in Bumi PLC and the subsequent restructuring of that facility.
  • Standard Chartered Bank in connection with a loan facility for Tata Teleservices Limited.
  • A syndicate of lenders led by Credit Suisse in connection with a US$120 million term facility for the Pacnet group of companies.
  • Standard Chartered Bank in connection with ECA backed facilities (EKN, Finnvera and Sinosure ) for the Robi Axiata group.
